Savannakhet Motorcycle Loop

This loop felt like the little brother of the Thakhek loop. It offered some amazing views of its own as well.

Brand new motorcycle! Much better than what I had before.

First stop in the morning of my ride. Nice collection of small waterfalls.

Little pathway leading to the largest waterfall.

Farmers preparing the fields for the next season.

Why thank you!

I stopped here for lunch and managed to make a friends with a few other travelers who I spent the rest of the day and night traveling with.

Once we arrived at a small town for the night, we got ourselves some rooms and then went out for dinner.

Me enjoying some kind of meat on a stick.

Second day of riding.

Lao school

Animal crossing. These were rather scary because the animals could charge you at any second but I assumed they were so used to cars by now they didn't really feel threatened.

On our way to another set of waterfalls, we stopped into a very nice restaurant for lunch. Just as we sat down to eat, an afternoon downpour passed through.

Group picture while waiting out the storm.

Headed down to the waterfall once the storm subsided.

After taking a look at the waterfall. The group of girls headed off back to town due to having to get on a bus. Me and the other guy decided to travel together for another day. We stopped to get some wifi and coffee so that I could check in with my family.

My new friend was determined to take part in a home stay in which a local family's home acts as a bed and breakfast. As we approached a village we stopped to find out where we could stay for the night and were told to keep saying "home stay"  and the locals would point us in the direction of those families that offered them.  The above picture is our beds for the night.

Coffee beans laid out to dry.

Host mother preparing us dinner.

The next day, the son of the family told us of some waterfalls hidden in the forest that he could take us to go see.

After two days of riding, I was again exhausted. My feet had been torn apart... probably should have worn regular shoes.
